Listen to the Sound of my Voice

  • by

Have you ever found yourself wondering: “What does this Darrell guy sound like? I mean, I hear his voice in my head when I read, but I don’t know how accurate that is. Is his voice higher than I imagine? Lower, with a lisp? Trembling with secret knowledge that keeps him forever on the edge of hysteria? Man, I wish there were a way I could just hear him talk.”

If so, I have good news and bad news.

The bad news is you’re spending way too much time thinking about my voice. You’re probably obsessing over other trivial matters as well. Make a list of the things you think about too much and take it to someone medically certified to help you chill out. Take the pills they offer you. And smile.

The good news is that I’ve recently had the pleasure of being a guest on a couple different podcasts. Here’s your chance to listen to me talk about game design, world design, and tales of roleplaying sessions gone horribly wrong. Check them out:

The Little Metal Dog Show – This episode includes a bit of me talking about the My Little Pony CCG and Ghost Punchers. Michael Fox is a gracious host and I hope to be allowed back on the show once the restraining order expires.

Gamer’s Tavern – Hosted by Ross Watson and Darryl “I spell my name wrong on purpose” Mott, the Tavern is a podcast dedicated to discussing tabletop RPGs. They had me on a few months back to join in their talk about RPG horror stories. It got pretty crazy (it’s almost two hours long, and occasionally sprinkled with NSFW language), and if we’ve ever gamed together, you’ll want to check it out just to see if cite you in one of my horrorifying Tales From Your Mom’s Basement.

(I should mention that I recorded another episode of Gamer’s Tavern recently on the topic of world building. As you can imagine, I had a few thoughts on the subject. Also visiting the show was the illustrious Colin “I wrote Planescape: Torment and half your Pathfinder collection” McComb, so if my wit and wisdom doesn’t do it for you when the show airs, you can still listen to him and be a better person for it.)
