What can Darrell Hardy do for you?
I am here to help you make games. Whether it’s a board game, collectible card game, tabletop RPG, miniatures game, or even a video game, I have the skills and experience you need to help make your game a reality.

Below is an overview of the services I provide.

Production Services
Maybe your tabletop game is completely done, but you’re not sure how to get it manufactured. Or maybe your game is just a dream, but you’d like to see how feasible it really is. Regardless of where you’re at in the process, I can help. I have experience and contacts in every aspect of tabletop game manufacturing, from books and boards to cards, dice, and miniatures. Whatever you have in mind, I can help you make it a reality.

  • Production Consulting: For the publisher who has never done this type of game before (whatever "this type" might be for you), I offer my services as a sounding board and general source of advice. I can provide you rough ballpark costs for the project you have in mind, discuss how manufacturing works,  and suggest the best ways to turn your dream game into a marketable product. Before you begin your quest for the perfect game, drop me a line and I’ll be glad to draw you a map of the territory.
  • Component Sourcing: Are you looking for custom dice? Do you need a deck of cards printed? Will you need plastic figures for your game? Or do you need a single manufacturer who can do it all for you? Whatever you need, let me do the searching for you. I have dozens of sources around the world; just give me your specs and I’ll get you some quotes – or if you prefer, only give you the best quote and my best recommendation.

  • Production Management: Once you’ve chosen a vendor (or vendors) for your game, you need to make sure they properly process your files, produce the components to your specifications, stay on schedule, and deliver what you need where you need it. This is especially important if your project is large, complicated, or changing its specs right up until the last moment. It can be very time-consuming… or I can do it for you. This is possibly the most important service I can provide, for without proper production management, all the previous steps in the game-making process can be for nothing.

Creative Services
Whether you’re at the beginning of your game design process, or just tying up a few loose ends before sending your game to press, I can help you hit your deadlines with cool, creative content that targets the market of your choice.

  • Game Design: So you’ve got a great property that’s crying out to be turned into a game, but you don’t know how where to begin. Or maybe you’ve got a cool idea for a game, but you’re not sure how to bring the mechanics and theme together. Give me a call and put my years of game design experience to work for you. I’ll work with you to create the game that you want for the market – and budget – you need.

  • Game Development: Maybe you’ve got the basic game design done, but need someone to take it the rest of the way: design scenarios, create cards, write up game stats, or maybe write the final rulebook. I’ve been doing this for years, and would love to do it for you.

  • Writing and World-Building: Many of today’s games are as much about their settings as they are about their mechanics, and all of them require a certain of amount of writing. So whether you need a blurb for the back of the box, a handful of exciting characters, or a whole book of flavor text, you can use a skilled, deadline-driven writer to help make that happen.

Talent Management
Perhaps your game is done, but you still need some cool flavor text and illustration to turn your game into a marketable product. Now you need to bring in some outside talent – and an experienced manager to keep them on schedule and within the style guide.

  • Art Sourcing: You need art? I’ve got artists. I have contacts and portfolios for hundreds of artists. Whatever your project’s style, deadline, scope, or budget, I have an artist or team of artists for you. Just let me know what you’re looking for, and I can hook you up with the talent you need.

  • Art Direction: It’s one thing to assign a piece of cover art. It’s another to assign a 200-piece CCG card set. You need someone to guide your artists in the proper style, keep them on schedule, and manage their contracts – and if you don’t have the time to do it yourself, I can help.

  • Text Editing: Writers, like artists, need direction and deadlines. Unlike artists, writers also need an editor who can take their individual texts and bring them together into a seamless whole. While board and card games usually don’t have a team of writers, book and video games often do, and you’ll need an editor to keep the product on schedule and cohesive.
